New Normal or New You?

A Self-Inquiry Session

What is a Self-Inquiry Session? This is a sample of an exercise I run in all of my events. It’s all about asking ourselves questions to start the process of peeling back the layers and masks we’ve used to protect ourselves or hide behind and to get us closer to our truest essence.

It’s a process to get us out of our heads and into our heart-centered living.

It’s a remembering.

New Normal

Last week in one of my online breathwork groups, we explored possibility - what’s possible for us (and the better collective of us) once self-isolation is over. One of the questions I asked in that group during our self-inquiry session was this: Who do you want to become when all of this is over

I think we can all admit there are days where it seems life will never really go back to 'normal', but is that a bad thing? Maybe all of this madness is an opportunity to help you trim the proverbial fat on what isn't (and hasn't been) working and to double down on what is. I find this the most exciting part about all of this - the possibility it is creating. Don't get me wrong I haven't gleefully gone into self-isolation. It has certainly been a round sea of emotions, daily. But I'm learning, through practice and breathwork to give weight to the things I can control and practice softening and surrender for the things I can't.

Have I peaked your interest yet? To get the most out of a self inquiry session, take a few minutes to breathe, pause, ground, and center. Take some conscious breaths. Pick up an old fashion pen and put it to paper. Let yourself write freely, from your heart.

Here are some of the questions that my last group worked through that you might find helpful to journal with, meditate on, or ponder:

  • What has felt heavy for you leading into 2020?

  • Where have you experienced the most resistance? Discontentment?

  • What has felt light and easy?

  • Where have you experienced the most joy?

  • What are you most afraid will go back to 'normal'?

  • What is something new you hope to bring into the near future with you?

  • Who are you ready to become after life resumes?

  • Finish this sentence: Wouldn't it be cool if...

My hope in everything I provide, through this newsletter, through my events (online and off), and through any interaction with me is that I can help you in starting to think differently.
